It’s nearly a month since I left University and it was
definitely the right choice for me. Although I haven’t got a concrete job and I
am at home most days, don’t worry. I’m not wasting my life watching daytime
T.V. (although Trisha makes me laugh), playing PS3 or on Twitter non-stop (in
the evening I am). I’m just not that kind of person. I’m keeping busy working
on a few pieces of writing (watch this space), searching/applying for jobs and
continuing to build my contacts. So, if people ask what I do I say writer. Even
though people think “he’s one of those creative people without a proper job
pursuing his pipe-dreams”. But I’m not bothered what other’s think. A bit like
my brother the actor.
As well as keeping myself occupied in the days, I’ve set
myself a few personal goals. Firstly, I am desperate to be able to go out,
whether that be clubbing or the shops,
and push myself in my manual wheelchair. So, I’m doing a bit of daily training
outside on the uneven pavements near home. I’ve already been round the block
twice and I’m very proud of myself.
My second mission that I haven’t accepted yet because I’m
scared is that I want to put myself out there and go on dates. I want to join
proper dating sites which you have to pay for because the free ones I’ve been
on are full of creeps (like me).
Some have said I’m stupid for leaving University without a
clear future but it’s actually quite exciting to not know what’s around the
corner.
Like Arsenal winning the FA Cup, me getting a girlfriend and
writing pure gold. A boy can dream right?

I don't think it's silly at all! You have to do what is right for you, and for a lot of people, university just isn't it! Contrary to common belief (or what teachers quite often like to push) uni isn't the bee all and end all, it's more so about who you know, what contacts you had and a natural talent/flair for writing - which you have!

AH thanks, that is quie true. More about who you know. Sound so wise eventhough we're the same age.
